Visiting Mt. Etna was an extremely fascinating experience. It’s not very often that you get to visit an active volcano! Our tour guide for the morning was a lively and knowledgeable volcanologist named Boris.
After spending time at the Silvestri Crater we headed back into town to the Benanti Winery. The Benanti Winery sits in the foothills of Mt. Etna and their grapes are grown in soil rich with volcanic nutrients.
We enjoyed the wine so much that Neil and Jeff decided we each needed a case shipped back to the United States.
